OF ALL THE THINGS

If a documentary can be a fairy tale then OF ALL THE THINGS qualifies.

This is a heartwarming story about a man who was a songwriting legend in the 70s and 80s with songs like "Ain't No Woman Like The One I've Got" and "One Tin Soldier" who quietly retired to Boca Raton, Florida and a career selling real estate.

Lambert had pretty much given up on music.  His 1972 solo album, BAGS AND failed to impress  the music world except in one  corner of the world.  A Filipino radio deejay almost single handedly turned Lambert's musical misstep into a national treasure.   Turns out the Philippines is a nation of hopeless romantics and Lambert's "Of All The Things" struck a particular chord with the people who adopted it as their unofficial Valentine's Day theme song.  There in lies the essence of this tale.

A Filipino concert promoter has tried for years to convince Lambert to tour the Philippines but it was his wife and son who actually convinced him to give his music one more shot.  So Dennis left the comfort of his wife and daughter and traveled with his son, Jody, for a two week adventure that was 35 years in the making.

This was a fun ride and a great story.     It proves we are never too old to fulfill our dreams.
