A PRESIDENT TO REMEMBER:
IN THE COMPANY OF JOHN F. KENNEDY
Directed By: Robert Drew
Review By Tiffany Cooper

Though a well made documentary highlighting Kennedy’s presidential election all the way up to his assassination, A President To Remember does not add much to the existing cannon of JFK flicks. There was some interesting footage about the presidential debate with Nixon and his team.
Alec Baldwin as the narrator provides a minimalist gloss on the Bay of Pigs, the rise of the Berlin Wall, and the desegregation showdown with Governor George Wallace.
Privileged film maker Robert Drew and his team was allowed unprecedented access to Kennedy’s family, the members of the administration, and to high level briefings on such matters as nuclear disarmament and civil rights. Though much of that footage has been seen before, this new, tightly edited presentation of Drew’s archives provides a timely update of the Kennedy mythos. BRAVO!
