On the surface, I. Zombi was a cable access television horror host who entertained fans in Lexington, KY. Behind the makeup, he was a survivor.  As a child in Appalachia, Hayden Milligan was severely burned in a fire and he persevered for 28 years. Along with his UNdead brothers of the Horror Host Underground, he strove to “resurrect a dying genre.” This video is a celebration of Hayden and his alter ego after the inaugural season of “The Witching Hour.”

What an interesting film this was.  The story of Hayden is amazing by itself.  His ability to inspire and keep such a positive outlook on life after going through so much pain and suffering is inspirational.  When you bring in the cable access horror host, I am in awe.  This is such an interesting look into, not only I Zombi, but the entire sub culture of the horror film world.  It is fascinating.  It was so intriguing seeing all of these different hosts together.  How fantastic to be able to see these people and the gimmicks that they use.  FASCINATING!

What the documentary ends up becoming is not only the story of a man, but the story of a culture trying to be seen and heard.  So lets hear it for the horror host.  Find them on your cable access and online.  They are still there waiting in the dark for you to find them.
