HOT FLASH
Directed By: Sarah Knight

HOT FLASH will immediately set your toes to tappin' It is the story of the women Who blew off their day jobs for the band SAFFIRE - The Uppity Blues Women.
Talk about a mid life crisis - only it turned into a smart decision especially for Alligator Records.
Ann, Andra and Gaye combine bawdiness and blues. I had a hard time listening to all of their lyrics because I was laughing so hard. This is definitely one of the secrets to their success.
The film explores the lives and relationships between original members Ann and Gaye and how they added first Earlene to their band. We learn of hardships and the wonder and satisfaction of pleasing an audience. We also learn about the sacrifice it takes to be successful. As well as determination and luck. Eventually the schedule proved to be too grueling for Earlene and that's when Andra successfully stepped in. All the ladies are wonderful musicians and a downright hoot. This film, like SAFFIRE, is a good time.
