MIDNIGHT MOVIE
Directed By: Jack Messitt
Review By: Kim Jindra

MIDNIGHT MOVIE has a clever execution of a familiar theme. Twelve people get trapped in a movie theater during the midnight showing of a 40 year old horror classic. Two of the twelve are cops hoping to catch the film's director. He is now an escaped mental patient. The only suspense here is who the next victim will be. Even the ending is a cliche. But there is plenty of blood, guts and gasps.
Director Matt Messitt does a good job of putting the two films together to first create confusion and then fear. Like most horror films, it is a bit lame but that's part of the enjoyment.
